# Black Mast Instructions

## Propeller Type

Before installing the black mast, verify the type of propellers on your drone. This will determine how to safely install your mast. 

Reference the markings on your propellers to determine if they are type 2270 or type 2170.

## Instructions for High Efficiency Propellers - Type 2270 <a href="#astro-max-with-high-efficiency-props" id="astro-max-with-high-efficiency-props"></a>

For Astro Drones that have been updated with the high efficiency propellers use the following installation instructions for the Black Mast.

### Install Mounting Tray Onto Mast&#x20;

Attach the mounting tray to the mast using the attached adhesive tape.

### Install Cable Clip Onto Aircraft

First, identify the correct mounting location for the cable clip. The mounting location is on the forward port side of the aircraft.

Use the provided alcohol wipe to clean the surface of the Aircraft. Then attach the cable clip, using its adhesive.&#x20;

### Install Mast Onto Aircraft&#x20;

Orient the mast as shown below. Install the mast in the **Forward mounting position** on the left side of the drone.&#x20;
