# Sensor Installation

## Information

These are the instructions for installing a 6X Series Sensor onto a Freefly Astro. 

## Instructions - Red Mast

### Install the Light Sensor Into the Mounting Tray 

Orient the Light Sensor as shown below. The USB-C Port on the light sensor will face towards the **front** of the drone.

### Install the 6X Gimbal in Smart Dovetail Receiver & Secure

Insert the 6X Gimbal into the Smart Dovetail Receiver, then secure the Smart Dovetail Latch

### Connect the USB-C Cable to the Light Sensor

Connect the USB-C Cable to the USB-C port on the Light Sensor.&#x20;

### Connect the USB-C Cable to the 6X Gimbal

Connect the USB-C Cable to the USB-C port on the 6X Gimbal

### Secure the USB-C Cable

Secure the cable in the cable clip.&#x20;

### Power the Aircraft On&#x20;

Power on the aircraft and wait for the Sensor to boot.

## Instructions - Black Mast & 2270 Propellers&#x20;

Use these instructions if your 6X came with the black ILS mounting mast AND your Astro has the 2270 high efficiceny propellers installed. Please see the light sensor mounting hardware instructions for information on how to identify the propellers install on your aircraft.&#x20;
