# Find a field

Find a field by searching or sorting the field list, or on the map.

Find a field by searching or sorting the field list, or by navigating to its pin on the map. The field list shows every field in the selected organization and its sub-organizations, and the map shows where they are. If a field you expect to see isn't in the list, it may belong to another organization.

***

## Search for a field

Click **Fields** in the navigation bar to open the field list. Then type part of a name in **Search**. The list narrows as you type and matches the field name, address, farm or grower.

## Sort the list

Choose an order in **Sort By**. **Grower** or **Farm** keeps each grower's or farm's fields together. **Notifications** puts the fields with notifications first.

## Show one season's fields

Choose a year in **Crop Season** to list only the fields with a crop season in that year. **All** shows every field again.

The count, such as "Showing 4 of 21", tells you how many fields match.

## Find a field on the map

The map groups nearby fields into numbered clusters. Zoom in and the clusters turn into single fields. Click a field's marker or outline to open it.

## Try it in the demo

In the demo below, search the field list, sort it, show one season's fields and open a field from the map.

{% @fieldagent-demo/embed content="find-a-field" %}

## If a field is missing

1. Clear **Search**.
2. Set **Crop Season** to **All**.
3. Choose another organization in **Select Organization**. Fields that other people have [shared with you](/home/fieldagent-web/account-and-organizations/organizations-and-shared-fields.md) are under **Fields Shared With Me**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.senterasensors.com/home/fieldagent-web/fields/find-a-field.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
