# Converting a .KMZ file to a .SHP File so Field Boundaries can be Imported

## Converting a .KMZ file to a .SHP file

1. Download and install the latest version of QGIS [here](https://qgis.org).
2. Launch QGIS.
3. Make sure that the Processing Toolbox is displayed. To display it select "View => Panels =>  Processing Toolbox".

4. In the Processing Toolbox find "Vector Geometry" and then double click on "Polygonize".

5. In the Input layer, select the "..." button and then click on "select file..." and find the .KMZ file to select again.

6. In the Polygons click on the "..." button and select "Save to File...".

7. Choose the location to save the file too and give the shapefile a name.
8. Click on the "Run" button.
9. When the processing is complete click on the "Close" button.
10. The shape file is now created, you can close out of QGIS if needed.

## Importing a Shapefile as a field in FieldAgent

1. Click on + icon by the fields name on the left hand pane, see image below.

2. Select the .SHP file and click on the "Open" button.
3. Click on the "Close" button to confirm that the import is complete.
4. The Field has now been created. View the field by looking on the left hand pane under fields and select the field you imported.
