FieldAgent Mobile for iOS provides drone pilots with capabilities for flight planning, data capture, and workflows that support field-edge activities.
Hardware and System Software Overview
App-controlled missions require the app to stay active and in the foreground.
Backgrounding the app will prevent camera triggers, among other issues.
FieldAgent Mobile must always be in the foreground when the app is executing a mission.
The app requires an iPhone or iPad with support for iOS 13.0 or later.
The app offers enhanced performance and features on an iPad Mini Gen 6 (USB-C) or later.
FieldAgent Mobile lets you execute a flight plan directly on older DJI platforms.
On modern DJI drones that support DJI Pilot 2, the app can export a compatible KMZ flight plan.
The FieldAgent Platform allows you to process drone imagery to generate data products.
A list of compatible drones and flight specifications can found on the Sentera Product Catalog webpage.
Version Requirements
The app requires iOS 13.0 or later.
For the best experience, using the latest version available is recommended.
See Apple's iOS webpage for more details on the latest software.

Photo Capture Requirements
Not all SD cards are equal.
You must use quality SD cards to maintain a high capture rate on any camera.
Most cameras and applications require a minimum of class 3 (U3 ~ 100mb/s) card or better.
Not all brands of SD cards are the same, even with the advertised class ratings. If you have problems with a specific manufacturer, try a more reputable maker for your next drone flight.
You can use the tool below to format SD cards for Sentera cameras.
All SD Cards used in Sentera cameras must be formatted in FAT32.
Sentera Single must have a card with a capacity of less than or equal to 32GB.
Sentera Double 4K must have a card with a capacity of less than or equal to 64GB.
If you exceed the capacity requirements above, the camera will fail to boot or take photos correctly.
If your card is too big, it will not work.
If the card is not formatted in FAT32, it will not work.
SD cards that are used in DJI cameras should be formatted using their companion app.

Any activity that causes the app to become "inactive" will prevent it from communicating with the DJI drone.
If the app is inactive, it will cause:
The app will skip photos.
The app will misreport captured photos, mission duration, and drone errors.
The app can not command the drone to perform an RTH mission when flying east-facing is required. This will result in invalid imagery that will not import correctly.
No, you must close DJI GO 4 before running FieldAgent Mobile.
Why?
DJI GO 4 and FieldAgent Mobile "share" a connection to the drone.
Only one can be active at a time.
If you need to access DJI GO 4, FieldAgent before opening DJI GO 4.
Before you launch FieldAgent Mobile, always DJI GO 4 first.
The DJI mSDK for iOS utilizes Apple's MFI hardware protocol. DJI, not Apple or Sentera, prevents multiple apps from working correctly simultaneously.
Always have one app run or the other, never both.
A Sentera camera must have an active GPS connection when flying a drone.
The camera displays a green LED when there is an active GPS session and is ready to take photos.
Always wait for the green light before you attempt to take off.
The Sentera Double 4K and Single have Bluetooth capabilities for syncing overlap before your flight. However, there are times when the connection fails to work correctly.
Setting your overlap on the camera's SD card will allow you to bypass Bluetooth requirements.

My Sentera camera is not snapping photos or capturing data correctly.
This page includes troubleshooting for the following Sentera cameras:
Sentera Single
Sentera Double 4K (D4K)
Always wait for the green light to appear before you attempt to takeoff.
Always wait for the camera to turn green and have a GPS connection.
Check the SD Cards section of the guide.
If your camera has a lens cover then it must be removed before flight.
Check that the SD card has space and is not write-locked.
You need to slow down your flight plan so that you do not exceed the hardware's maximum capture rate. Slower flights allow longer times between photo capture intervals.

My Drone Won't...
This page describes typical problems encountered while using the app with a drone and helps you understand the cause and how to remedy the situation.
If you have issues with the app or drone, follow these steps first.
Check if your drone is in or near a No Fly Zone.
If you are on the edge of an NFZ, the drone can stop mid-mission to prevent it from entering restricted airspace.
Keep the app in the foreground while operating the drone.
Force quit DJI GO 4.
Reboot your device. Mobile devices that connect to DJI Remote Controllers can become unstable over time, and rebooting often fixes these issues.
Rebooting can fix an issue where you cannot send support emails from the app.
Reboot your mobile device every morning as part of your daily routine.
Out-of-date system software can cause many types of issues.
Check for any software updates and install them.
Always keep FieldAgent Mobile up-to-date.
Check your Lightning or USB-C port for debris or unexpected wear.
Your port can wear out over time due to too many cable insertions. If you detect excessive wear and tear, have your mobile device serviced.
Follow Apple's suggestions for cleaning here.
Do not attempt to clean the port yourself.
Inspect your cables.
Damaged cables should be replaced.
Non-Apple cables often fail to work correctly with the Drone's RC and your mobile device.
Check that you have the latest firmware.
Review DJI's website for the latest firmware.
RTK mode is not supported by FieldAgent mobile.
Matrice Series drones must have RTK mode disabled.
The app cannot upload or execute autonomous missions when RTK is enabled.
Perform drone maintenance and calibration on a schedule.
Perform any missed maintenance procedures before continuing to use the drone.
Check to see if your drone needs calibration.
Inspect your drone for any damage to the aircraft or the batteries.
Have your drone serviced if necessary.
If your batteries are damaged, then do not fly with them.
Always deploy your drone in a good takeoff area.
Taking off too close to an object, such as a picnic table or car, can cause issues with the Vision System.
You should never attempt to take off near metal or on rebar-reinforced concrete.
Always maintain Line of Sight (LoS) with your remote controller (RC) and the drone.
Crops are an attenuator. Obstructing the LoS of the RC and drone can cause communications to become unstable and fail.
Human bodies are also massive attenuators. Do not put your body between the drone's and the RC's line of sight.
Some versions of DJI's firmware have bugs that cause the drone to pause while taking off or flying a mission. Check to see if you have the latest firmware.
The obstacle avoidance system can be triggered during take-off or a flight for unexpected reasons.
Ensure you are on flat ground away from objects like a picnic table or car.
Cleaning your drone as part of a maintenance schedule is essential for its health and safety. This will keep the sensors free of debris that can cause them to become confused.
Drones with Support for Mission Execution must have their RC set to the correct Flight Mode.
