Instructions

1

Setup Base Station

Set the base station up in a location with a clear view of the sky. Do not place under or directly next to:

  • Trees

  • Buildings

  • Large metal objects

  • Tailgates

2

Power On

Hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the RS2 on.

3

Survey Location

Self-Survey

This is the default mode of operation for the base station.

After the base station is powered on it will acquire a GPS fix and perform an approximately 120 second sampling period. After the sampling period the base station will have self surveyed its current location and be ready to transmit corrections data.

The self survey location/reference point is globally accurate to approximately 1.5m. This may not align exactly with truth. For the highest accuracy to ground truth use the known location method below.

Known Location

If the operation location has a known surveyed point, the latitude, longitude, and altitude information of the point can be entered into the base station via the Emlid Flow application and used as the reference point.

This is useful, as a known survey point gives the highest global accuracy.

4

Verify Status

The status of the RS2 can be viewed in the Emlid Flow application.

5

Verify Logging (PPK ONLY)

Verify in the Emlid Flow application that the base station is logging PPK data.

circle-info

The RS2 creates RINEX 3.03 format logs by default. There is no need to update logging settings before first use.

6

Verify Antenna is mounted (RTK ONLY)

Verify that the Antenna is mounted on the drone.

7

Verify Radio Connection (RTK ONLY)

Verify that the Antenna is mounted on the drone, and the Sentera ground radio RSSI status lights are either scrolling green (searching for air radio) or solid green (connected to air radio).
