## Instructions

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Setup Base Station&#x20;

Set the base station up in a location with a clear view of the sky.\
\
Do not place under or directly next to:

* Trees
* Buildings
* Large metal objects
* Tailgates
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Power On&#x20;

Hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the R980 on.&#x20;
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Access R980 Web Interface

Connect to the Base Station Wi-Fi and navigate to 192.168.142.1 in a web browser.&#x20;
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Survey Location&#x20;

Click on the Receiver Configuration Tab on the left hand menu&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/vRLmJenxSnr2U39om6x6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click on the Reference Station Tab

<figure><img src="/files/lhWfZVAxa4ahKMEovgCO" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Use the Reference Station Page to view and utilize the following:

* Reference Position
* Current Position&#x20;
* Average Position

<figure><img src="/files/ihXO6QXxREXf6M0ULnXH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Reference Position needs to be manually updated before RTK-PPK operations. For relative accuracy, let the base station perform a self survey and load the Average Position. For global accuracy, enter the known location of the base station.

#### Self-Survey <a href="#self-survey" id="self-survey"></a>

To perform a Self-Survey, click the check mark next to Auto Average on the Reference Station Page, then click OK. By Default, the base station will survey for 120 seconds.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/AT6moV6zh5sbq0u9sRLM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The webpage will display the time left in the survey.

<figure><img src="/files/r0i58UdK9Mg95gLcFxnT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once the base station has finished surveying, scroll up the the Reference Position and click Average to load the Average Position.

For the highest accuracy to ground truth use the known location method below.

#### Known Location <a href="#known-location" id="known-location"></a>

If the operation location has a known surveyed point, the latitude, longitude, and altitude information of the point can be entered into the base station via the Web Interface and used as the reference point.

Enter the Latitude, Longitude and Height with your known location information.

<figure><img src="/files/W3KGOFiLEOqF1uYgFDnh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is useful, as a known survey point gives the highest global accuracy.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Verify Status

The status of the R980 can be viewed in the Trimble Web Interface or the Trimble Mobile Manager Application.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Verify Logging (PPK ONLY)

Verify in the Web Interface that the base station is logging PPK data.

Click on the Data Logging tab on the Left hand side.

<figure><img src="/files/lOSauUnxxizYhMgJ1PPt" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

When logging is enabled, the Status will display 'Logging' along with the location the logs are being saved to.

<figure><img src="/files/v3RKN1Q9cjCSHIKDqzTT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Verify Antenna is mounted (RTK ONLY)

Verify that the Antenna is mounted on the drone.&#x20;
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Verify Radio Connection (RTK ONLY)

Verify that the Sentera ground radio RSSI status lights are either scrolling green (searching for air radio) or solid green (connected to air radio).&#x20;
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
